I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE ABS SINCE I GOT THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER, I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH ABS AND THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS NORMAL. WHEN I BRAKE, IF I HIT A BUMP, THE BRAKES LOCK UP, AND I CONTINUE TO SLIDE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MANY OCCASIONS, ON DRY AND WET PAVEMENTS AND ON SNOW AND ICE. I CAME VERY CLOSE (10-15 FEET) TO SLIDING INTO A BUSY INTERSECTION ONCE WHEN THIS BRAKE PROBLEM OCCURRED. I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM THE MANUFACTURER AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED, WAS TOLD THAT MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE IT WAS MANUFACTURED AT A DIFFERENT PLANT. I HAVE WASTED A LUNCH HOUR AND A LOT OF TIME ON THE PHONE TRYING TO GET SATISFACTION FROM GMC, TO NO AVAIL, BESIDES PUTTING MY LIFE AND OTHER'S LIVES ON THE LINE WHENEVER I DRIVE. AS...
