TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR EAGLE 2 TIRES, SIZE 225/55/R17. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVERS FRONT AND THE PASSENGER REAR TIRES STEEL BELT SEPARATED CAUSING THE TIRE TO BLOW OUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,510. UPDATED 10/7/14*CN UPDATED 7/15/2015*JS
MY CAR WOULD SHIMMY AS IF THE TIE ROD WAS GOING BAD, AND THE TIRE IN QUESTION WOULD BE FLAT NEARLY EVERY MORNING. AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS I MADE IT TO HARTINGTON, NE TO THE NEAREST CHEVROLET DEALER. UPON INSPECTION THEY TOLD ME THAT I WAS VERY LUCKY TO HAVE MADE IT THERE BECAUSE THE BELTS SEPARATED ON THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE WHERE I WOULD HAVE NEVER SEEN WHAT WAS HAPPENING. BOTH FRONT TIRES WERE REPLACED AT GREAT EXPENSE. I NOW HAVE HANKOOK TIRES AND WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY GOODYEAR TIRES AFTER THIS INCIDENT. *TR
A FRONT TIRE DEVELOPED A BUBBLE PROTRUDING FROM A SIDEWALL CRACK ON THE INSIDE OF MY GOODYEAR LS-2 TIRE. A SECOND LS-2 FAILED FROM A SIMILAR SIDEWALL CRACK AT JUST OVER 30,000 MILES. MY 3RD LS-2 IS CURRENTLY FAILING ON THE INTERIOR SIDEWALL WITH ABOUT 48,000 MILES ON THE CAR. THE TREAD WAS GOOD ON ALL TIRES REPLACED. *TR
MY 09 IMPALA LTZ HAS ALREADY HAD A BLOWOUT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DUE TO A GOUGING AROUND THE ENTIRE DIAMETER OF THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE. I CHECKED THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THERE WERE WIRES SHOWING ON THAT TIRE, AS WELL AS THE SAME GOUGING. THE REST OF THE TREAD WAS FINE ON THE FRONT TIRES. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED AND THE CAR WAS ALIGNED. THIS PAST WEEKEND, JUST BEFORE MY WIFE LEFT IN THE CAR TO HEAD ON A 350 MILE TRIP, I HAPPENED TO NOTICE THAT, AGAIN, WIRES WERE SHOWING ON THESE TIRES, ALSO. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, I NOTICED THAT THESE TIRES ALSO HAD THE SAME GOUGING TO THEM. I CHECKED THE REAR TIRES AND THEY HAVE THE SAME GOUGING, ALTHOUGH NOT AS BAD AS THE FRONT. THE STRUT PLATE, ATTACHED TO THE STRUT JUST ABOVE THE TIRE, IS ABOUT A HALF OF AN INCH ABOVE...
FRONT TIRES HAVE EXCESSIVE WEAR ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE TIRES ONLY. ORIGINAL GOODYEAR INTEGRITY TIRES ARE STILL ON THE CAR. REAR TIRES ARE FINE AND LOOK "NORMAL". AFTER READING ABOUT OTHER ISSUES LIKE THIS IT MAKES ME BELIEVE THERE IS SOME SORT OF ISSUE WITH THE ALIGNMENT OF THE CAR. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY VEHICLE. IT WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION AS IT IS. I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE TIRES BECAUSE THERE IS NO TREAD ON THEM EXCEPT FOR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TIRES WHICH IS REALLY ODD. NOT SURE HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS MY SECOND IMPALA AND I'VE NEVER HAD THESE ISSUES BEFORE. I HAVEN'T CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP YET ABOUT THIS. I WILL SEE WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE MAKING A TURN THE TIRE WOULD TILT 20-30 DEGREES. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS A GOODYEAR AND THE TIRE LINE WAS INTEGRITY, SIZE P225/60R16 WITH DOT# M60X E6DR. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE TIRE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,600 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,600.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA 1LT WITH THE ORIGINAL GOODYEAR INTEGRITY TIRES, SIZE P225/60/R16. THE CONTACT NOTICED PREMATURE AND UNEVEN WEAR ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE TIRES. TWO DEALERS WERE NOTIFIED, THE FIRST WAS UNRESPONSIVE AND THE SECOND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE AN ALIGNMENT DONE AND TO REPLACE THE TIRES BECAUSE THEY WERE UNSAFE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED AND THEY AGREED TO CALL THE DEALER ON THE CONTACTS BEHALF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED BOTH REAR TIRES. THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 30,000 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 20,000.
I HAVE A 2009 IMPALA WITH BARELY 15000 MILES. TOOK IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION AT A FIRESTONE BUSINESS. MECHANIC STATES THAT FRONT TIRES WOULD NOT PASS INSPECTION, AND RECOMMENDED 2 FRONT TIRES AND LIFETIME FRONT END ALIGNMENT FOR A COST OF ALMOST 750.00. DID NOT TAKE HIM UP ON HIS "GENEROUS" OFFER. THIS WAS JUST BEFORE THE CAR HIT 15K MILES. CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED EVERY 5K, AND UP UNTIL JUST OVER 10K, TIRE CONDITION WAS STATED AS "GOOD-9/32 TREAD IS STILL ON TIRES. SO, BETWEEN 10K & 15 K, THEY ARE NOW NO LONGER ANY GOOD? HAVE SEEN QUITE A FEW COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT 2009 IMPALA TIRES WEARING OUT PREMATURELY, AS DID THE 2008'S(WHICH MY WIFE HAS) FRONT END HAS NEVER SHAKEN, SHIMMIED OR ANYTHING ELSE-STILL DRIVES DOWN THE ROAD AT 50 WITH NO PROBLEM AT ALL. AM WONDERING IF GM IS GOING TO GIVE ME...
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT TIRES HAVE WORN VERY RAPIDLY. UPON RESEARCHING THE FAILURE THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECOMMENDED PSI IS 44 BUT THE MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED 30 PSI. DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT HE SHOULD PURCHASE NEW TIRES AND HAVE THE ALIGNMENT DONE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 19,886.
MY CAR PREMATURELY WEARS FRONT TIRES OUT. BY 4200 MILES, MY FRONT TIRES WERE SHOWING THE CORDS. I HAD OWN A 2008 IMPALA (SAME MODEL) AND AT 4000 MILES THE FRONT TIRES WERE BALD. THIS HAS BEEN CONSTANT WITH THIS VEHICLE AND THE PREVIOUS VEHICLE. THE DEALER HAS ALIGNED THIS VEHICLE AND STATES THAT THERE IS NO PROBLEM!! IF I WASN'T AWARE OF THIS, MY TIRES WOULD BLOW OUT!!!!! *TR
