THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PUT OUT THE FIRE WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DENNY MENHOLT RAPID CHEVROLET (2323 E MALL DR, RAPID CITY, SD 57701) AND THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE WAITING FOR THE MANUFACTURER'S APPROVAL FOR REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.

I TURNED THE KEY IN MY CAR TO START IT, THERE WAS A VERY LOUD POP AND THE ENGINE STARTED SMOKING. THE ENGINE THEN CAUGHT FIRE AND IS TOTALLY DESTROYED. THIS CAR HAD BEEN USED 2 DAYS PRIOR WITH NO ISSUES, NO SAFETY LIGHTS ON, NO ISSUES DRIVING AND IT STARTED FINE THAT LAST TIME IT WAS DRIVEN. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS SENT ME A REPORT ON THE CAUSE.
TAKATA RECALL MY INTAKE MANIFOLD HAVE A RECALL ON IT AND I WOULD LIKE TO BRING IT IN TO GET FIXED. I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM AN AUCTION. ALSO MY FUEL FLOW DOES NOT WORK.

WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOSES ALL POWER WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS AND STALLS. ON OCCASION, THE VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT DURING THE DAILY DRIVE.
