STEERING WHEEL GOT LOCKED I TRIED WITH DIFFERENT KEYS EVEN A NEW DEALERS KEY AND IT STILL DIDN'T UNLOCK . IT WAS PARKED
TL-THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED BACK ON 02/2019. THE DRIVE SHAFT FELL OUT OF THE VEHICLE ON 07/2019 AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DEEMED THE VEHICLE UNDRIVABLE ON 12/23/19. THE CONTACT CALLED THE STATE POLICE FOR VEHICLE FRAUD AN DWAS STILL WAITING FOR A CALLBACK. THE CONTACT ALSO CONTACTED COUNTY ATTORNEY GENERAL AN RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE DEALER M C'S AUTO SALES 1343 CONNELLSVILLE ST, LEMONT FURNACE, PA 15456 (724) 438-0191 STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT ITAND REFUSED TO REFUND THE PURCHASE. THE DEALER TRIED TO REPOCESS THE VEHICLE THE NEXT DAY BUT WAS UNSUCESSFUL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.TF
RIGHT WHEN I LEFT THE DEALERS LOT, IT NEEDED A NEW HEAD GASKET, INTAKE GASKET COIL PACK, AND A THERMOSTAT. LUCKILY THE DEALER PAID FOR THAT. SINCE THEN, I NOTICED WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP SIGN, IF THERE'S A SLIGHT BUMP IN THE ROAD, IT FEELS LIKE I'M RUNNING OVER A BOULDER. WHILE SLOWING DOWN MOST TIMES, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO BOG DOWN ABOUT AN INCH, WAS TOLD MAYBE A MOTOR MOUNT? RPMS ALWAYS BOG UP AND DOWN FOR NO REASON LIKE IT'S TRYING TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. A FEW WEEKS AGO MY AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON INDICATING MY AIR BAGS WON'T DEPLOY WHEN NEEDED. A COUPLE WEEKS LATER THE RPMS BOGGING AND FRONT END BOGGING DOWNWARD BECAME MORE CONSTANT, THEN MY SPEEDOMETER RANDOMLY WILL GO TO 0 WHILE IN MOTION, THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER WILL WORK FINE. MY CAR CRANKS WITHOUT TURNING THE IGNITION OVER AND I REPLACE THE BATTERY BECAUSE MY CAR KEPT QUITTING BUT IT STILL HAS TROUBLE CRANKING.MY HEATER CORE ALSO WENT OUT AFTER ONLY HAVING IT FOR A FEW MTHS.

WHEN INSERTING KEY INTO THE IGNITION, THE KEY HAS TURN BUT NOT COMPLETELY CRANKED BECAUCE IT WOULD JAM. THIS HAS HAPPENED VERY SELDOMLY SINCE 07/04/2015 APPROMIMATE MILAGE AT THE MOMENT OF INITIAL INCIDENT ESTIMATED AT AROUND 230,000 ORIGINAL MILES.HOWEVER THE WHOLE FRONT WHEELS AND STEERING COLUMN LOCK UP SOMETIMES AT THE TURN OF KEY. STEERING COLUMN LOCKS UP AND U CANT TURN THE KEY ALMOST LIKEIT DONT FIT BECAUSE ITS THE WRONG KEY. KEYS CAN ALSO BE REMOVED DURING OPERATION. THE VEHICLE CAN DRIVE WITH NO KEYS IN THE IGNITION AND BE THEN PLACED IN PARK WITH STILL NO KEYS IN THE IGNITION. THE KEY ONCE PLACED OUT PARK, EASILY SLIDES IN AND OUT OF IGNITION.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AT 50 MPH OR HIGHER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL MOTOR THAT WAS CONNECTED TO THE STEERING COLUMN WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I HAD TROUBLE INSERTING THE KEY IN TO THE IGNITION. AFTER INSERTED I DROVE THE CAR TO THE STORE. WHEN I TURNED OFF THE CAR THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. AFTER WIGGLING THE KEY AROUND IT FINALLY CAME OUT OF THE IGNITION AND THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED. WHEN I TRIED TO PUT THE KEY BACK IN THE IGNITION THE STEERING COLUMN WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSE THAT THE CARRIER BEARING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SIX MONTHS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SAME INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS AWAITING REPAIR. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FRONT STRUTS WERE DEFECTIVE, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW FAILED, AND WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED IT HESITATED AND FUEL FUMES WERE EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 56,300.
CAR DOESN'T START ON FIRST ATTEMPT. IT TRIES, THEN EVEN AFTER I RELEASE THE KEY IT CONTINUES TO START, LIKE ITS STUCK, I HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS TO GET IT TO START, AND IT ACTS FLOODED. I HAVE SPENT CLOSE TO $5000.00 DOLLARS, BRAKES, WHEEL BEARINGS, EMERGENCY BRAKE. THE FRONT END BEGAN TO FEEL VERY LOOSE. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE STRUTS PREMATURELY FAILED AND CREATED A VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITION. REPLACED MOUNTS STRUTS ETC ETC THIS CAR HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW OUT OF THE DEALER. 2005 NEW PROBLEM STEERING WHEEL IS MAKING A GRINDING NOISE DEALER IS SAYING $1300.00 TO REPAIR IT WHEN DOES IT STOP GM / CHEVY NEEDS TO FIX THIS CARS AT NO COST. *TR

I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK ON 8.2.11 IT HAD BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP SINCE 5.14.11. THE REPAIR MAN REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION MODULATOR. HE NOTED THAT IT DID "ACT UP" FOR HIM, HOWEVER IT HAD NOT ACTED UP SINCE HIS LAST ATTEMPT AT FIXING IT. IT WAS RAINING WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR. IN THE FIRST 10 MILES I NOTICED THE STEERING PULLED TO THE LEFT A COUPLE OF TIMES. AFTER I HIT DRY ROAD THIS DID NOT OCCUR. AFTER ABOUT 30-60 MILES OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE SINCE GETTING IT BACK, THE SPEEDOMETER STARTED FAILING AND THE VEHICLE WHILE GOING 55MPH STARTS TO FEEL LIKE IT IS GOING TO CEASE TO OPERATE AND STUTTERS. I HAVE A 2005 CHEVROLET EQUINOX LT WITH THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (VIN) [XXX], WITH A PRODUCTION OF APRIL 2005. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN 2005, AT APPROXIMATELY 30,000 MILES I STARTED HAVING DIFFICULTIES WITH THE IGNITION SWITCH OPERATION, AND THE KEY WAS HARD TO TURN IN THE CYLINDER. I HAVE A 2005 CHEVY EQUINOX LS. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE JANUARY 2009 SEEMED TO BE DRIVING PRETTY GOOD. I TOOK IT OUT OF TOWN AND AS I BEGAN TO STOP AT THE STOP LIGHT THE STEERING FELT LOOSE AND THE WHEELS MOVED SIDE TO SIDE ON ITS OWN. I THOUGHT IT STRANGE BUT KEPT ON DRIVING. 2005 CHEVY EQUINOX. CURRENT MILES APPROX 85,000. WAS REAR ENDED IN MAY 2010. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED AND RETURNED IN JUNE 2010. WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS, FOUND NOTICEABLE GRINDING NOISES FROM BRAKES, LOW TO NULL BRAKING ABILITY. ABS AND TRACKING LIGHTS ARE ON. IN JUNE, DEALER FOUND ABS SENSOR AND STEERING COLUMN WERE BROKEN. DEALER SAID IT WAS A RESULT OF RECENT CAR ACCIDENT BUT SEVERAL INSURANCE ADJUSTERS HAVE SAID THE ACCIDENT WAS TOO MINOR TO CAUSE SUCH DAMAGE AND BELIEVE IT IS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. ON JANUARY 26 I TOOK MY 2005 CHEVROLET EQUINOX TO THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH I PURCHASED IT (CLASSIC EAST, MADISON OHIO 44057) FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND MENTIONED THAT I HEARD A RATTLE IN MY STEERING COLUMN WHEN I WAS ON ROUGH ROAD. THEY ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE NOISE BY ADJUSTING THE PRELOAD STEERING GEAR, BUT IT DID NOT WORK SO THEY SPECIAL ORDERED A PART.
