TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE OPENED THE TAILGATE, THE CABLE FAILED AND THE TAILGATE WOULD NOT REMAIN OPEN. THE DEALER DID NOT INSPECT THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER, THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE CABLE. THERE WAS NO RECALL LISTED ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. AS OF AUGUST 3, 2007, THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 75,000. UPDATED 02-01-08. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED BOTH CABLES WERE FAILED AT THE SAME TIME AND DEALER REPLACED BOTH CABLES AT 8/10/07 AT N/C. UPDATED 02/01/08 *TR
