THESE HEADLAMPS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THESE LAMPS DO NOT CONTAIN THE REQUIRED AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS.
Consequence: DECREASED LIGHTING VISIBILITY MAY RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Defect: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CREW CAB PICKUP TRUCKS. THE FRONT, INNER CORNER OF THE FUEL TANK CAN CONTACT THE BODY SILL EITHER INTERMITTENTLY OR CONSTANTLY. THIS MOVEMENT CAN CAUSE A DISCERNIBLE NOISE AND, OVER TIME, CAN WEAR A HOLE IN OR CRACK THE FUEL TANK AT POINT OF CONTACT.
Consequence: THIS CONDITION CAN RESULT IN FUEL LEAKAGE AND A DISTINCT FUEL ODOR IF THE TANK WERE FILLED ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE HOLE OR CRACK. IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, A FIRE COULD RESULT.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1995 CHEVROLET C10. THE VEHICLE HAS COOPER MASTERCRAFT TIRES, SIZE P225/70R15. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE DROVE AS IF IT WERE OUT OF BALANCE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED A KNOT IN THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE. HE CONTINUED TO DRIVE AND THE TIRE EVENTUALLY FAILED. THE DEALER STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO ASSIST. THE TIRE WAS SENT TO THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT THE CONTACT MUST HAVE STRUCK THE TIRE AGAINST SOMETHING. HE IS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE HE HAS THREE OF THE SAME TIRES REMAINING ON THE VEHICLE, AND BELIEVES THE SAME FAILURE COULD RECUR.
