The contact owns a 2007 Cadillac DTS equipped with General Tires, Tire Line: Exclaim HPX A/S (Alpha Sierra), Tire Size: 235/55/R17, DOT Number: A37AWBXP3317. The tire was a replacement tire. The contact stated that while driving 40 MPH, the front passenger’s side tire experienced a blowout as a result the vehicle landed in a ditch. The contact stated that the sidewall was separated; however, the tread belt was intact. The contact stated that he changed the tire and was able to drive on the spare tire. The tire was not taken for inspection. The contact stated that he called the tire store and was advised to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact that the tire was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 21T001000 (Tires) as the DOT number was out of scope. 2007 CADILLAC DTS. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE TIRES *TGW IN JUNE 2010 THE LEFT FRONT TIRE BLEW OUT. IT HAPPENED AT A LOW SPEED, SO THERE WAS NO DANGER OF AN ACCIDENT. THE TIRE HAD TO BE REPLACED. IN AUGUST 2010, THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WENT FLAT AND THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE TIRE HAD DISINTEGRATED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IN NOVEMBER 2010, WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT. THE CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING 75 MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE TIRE HAD DISINTEGRATED. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC DTS EQUIPPED WITH CONTINENTAL TOURING CONTACT AC TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THERE WAS A REPEATED THUMPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TREAD WAS WARPED AND THERE WAS A LUMP IN THE TIRE. THE TIRE WAS NOT REPLACED AND THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. THE DOT NUMBER WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
