2015 BMW X1 Exterior Lighting Problems

What happened: Before the engine began smoking, I experienced several electrical and functional issues. The cigarette lighter socket and USB ports stopped working completely. At one point, the windshield washer fluid system also stopped working and later started functioning again without repair. Additionally, on multiple occasions while at a complete stop with my foot on the brake, the vehicle unexpectedly shifted into park on its own. This happened about 2–3 times and made it unsafe to accelerate when traffic resumed. Eventually, the engine began emitting smoke during normal use. There were no warning lights or error messages beforehand. This issue appears connected to the current coolant pump recall, but the manufacturer has stated that no remedy is available.
