I AM SEEKING ASSISTANCE IN THE MATTER OF HAVING A DEFECTIVE ENGINE IN MY 2006 750I BMW. WE HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE SINCE OCT. 2008 AND WE HAVE KEPT SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE ON IT AS PRESCRIBED. RECENTLY AFTER TAKEN THE CAR TO THE SHOP FOR LIGHT SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT OUR ENGINE WAS POSSIBLY BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THAT FIRST WE WERE TOLD THAT BMW WOULD MOST LIKELY COVER PARTS IF WE WERE TO HAVE THE ENGINE BROKE DOWN TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. WHICH WE AGREE TO; BEFORE THE ENGINE WAS BROKE DOWN AND THE CAUSE WAS KNOWN WE WERE TOLD THAT REGARDLESS OF WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE ENGINE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO HELP. WE CONTINUED WITH THE BREAK DOWN TO DISCOVER THAT THE ENGINE IS IN FACT BAD AND IT IS "VERY UNUSUAL" FOR THE ENGINE...
