A software error may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
Consequence: A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Consequence: A deactivated passenger air bag increases the risk of injury during a crash.

Purchased new 2022 Audi e-tron GT RS vehicle from Audi on September 30, 2022. The car was shipped directly to arrived at home on October 12, 2022. always had his vehicle serviced at Audi. Almost immediately after purchase, began to have issues with the vehicle. At 237 miles the vehicle began to independently and randomly shut off or shift into neutral. The issue was fixed after installing the first of many recall updates. Since then at least 6 recalls have been issued for the vehicle, each necessitating another visit to the dealership for repairs. Additionally, in January of 2024 its interior heating system began to malfunction. The vehicle remained in the shop for 10 days while this problem was remedied. Most recently, on December 11, 2024, the vehicle became inoperative and was towed to the shop once again. The dashboard displays a warning that reads “Electrical system: malfunction! Safely stop vehicle.” recently told that the vehicle could remain at the shop for multiple months and that a battery cell needs to be replaced but the dealership cannot confirm the repair will remedy the problem(s) or if additional problems exist. The value of vehicle has been substantially impaired by all of the malfunctions it has experienced and continues to experience. Audi has failed to correct all outstanding problems.

If the vehicle is left outside in the sun, the backup camera and/or side cameras stop working. It happens very often, but it’s unpredictable. Because if very bad read visibility, reversing in this car is impossible without the backup camera.
