2014 AUDI A5 Electrical System Problems

1) power steering module failed resulting in steering failing on highway. Car is not available for inspection due to being totaled. Issue was a known service bulletin by Audi however new owners had no way to know it was a life threatening issue. 2) The car lost control when power module failed, steering wheel locked up. 3) Yes 4) insurance and the dealership. The dealership refused to cover it because it was 10years past extended warranty even thought it had less than 125,000 miles. Apparently RAIN affects these units. 5) No.

While driving the car I press the gas pedal and it loses power or won't accelerate at all, then all of a sudden something happens and it lunges forward fast it is scary I have almost crashed 2 times. This issues is intermittent, thus the driver has no control of when the car is going to drive properly when I doesn't it is scary. I'm have been relegated to 45 miles an hour on the freeway I cannot control any part of the car to ensure I can make a lane change if I need to to overt an accident. The reason I'm filing this is because Audi has known about this since at least 2010, there are TSB'S FOR EVERY YEAR REGARDING THIS PROBLEM EITHER EXACT OR a slight change of this problem because every car is different. I CONTACT AUDI OF CONCORD, CA IN NOVEMBER OF 2018, TO HAVE THE AFTER-RUN COOLANT PUMP REPLACED. THEY PLACED ME ON A WAITLIST, I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM ALMOST A YEAR LATER.

NHTSA RECALL NUMBER: 18V229 MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: 19N4 RECALL DATE: I WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS IN DECEMBER OF 2017. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET, BUT IT IS SEPT 10TH 2018 AND THERE IS NO SOLUTION. I WAS UNABLE TO MAKE A TRADE-IN OF MY VEHICLE DUE TO THE UNRESOLVED RECALL ISSUE. I DO NOT THINK THIS HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF IN A TIMELY MANNER.

AUDI OF SEATTLE CONFIRMED 1/22/2018 THAT MY CAR IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED, BUT I BELIEVE THIS DESIGN IS UNSAFE AND UNDESIRABLE. SPECIFICALLY, WHEN DRIVING IN REVERSE USING THE BACKUP CAMERA VIEW, IF I RECEIVE AN INCOMING CELL PHONE CALL TO MY PAIRED PHONE, THE CAR PRIORITIZES THE TELEPHONE SCREEN VIEW OVER THE BACKUP CAMERA SCREEN VIEW, WHICH IMMEDIATELY DISAPPEARS. BACKING UP IS OF COURSE A TIME WHEN THE DRIVER'S ARMS AND HANDS ARE NOT WELL POSITIONED TO POKE THE "IGNORE" BUTTON ON THE PHONE SCREEN.

I RECEIVED A BLUETOOTH CELL PHONE CALL WHILE BACKING UP IN REVERSE, AND THE BACKUP CAMERA TV SCREEN TO MY SURPRISE WAS OVERRIDDEN BY THE PHONE CALL SCREEN, LOSING MY BACKUP VIEW.
