I?VE A 92 AUDI 100 CS QUATRO, VIN [XXX]. IT APPEARS THAT NHTSA RECALL ID 97172000 WOULD COVER THIS CAR, AS THE VIN NUMBER IS IN THE RANGE OF APPLICABLE VEHICLES. AS I WRITE THIS, THE DEALER IS REPLACING THIS PART, THE AIRBAG CONTROLLER, BECAUSE THE DIAGNOSTICS HAS INDICATED THAT IT HAS FAILED. THIS APPEARS TO FIT WITH THIS RECALL. HOWEVER, WHEN I TALK TO THE DEALER (CHECKERED FLAG, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA) AND THE AUDI SERVICE LINE THEY SAY THAT THIS RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO THIS VEHICLE. BUT THEY CANNOT TELL ME WHY. THEY PLUG IT INTO THE COMPUTER AND IT SAYS IT DOESN'T APPLY. NOBODY CAN TELL ME IF THE RECALL WAS APPLIED. AND THE RANGE ON THE RECALL DOCUMENT SAYS: [XXX] - [XXX] WHICH CERTAINLY SEEMS TO FIT BY VIN NUMBER (SEE ABOVE) MY COMPLIANT ? EITHER THE RECALL IS NOT BEING HONORED OR THE RECALL HAS...
