Describe the defect or noncompliance: Wrong fasteners used with adhesive on awning brackets Describe the safety risk: The possibility of the fasteners working loose causing the awning to malfunction or loosen from the sidewall Identify any warning which can precede or occur: Awning moving from sidewall when operating Describe the cause: Self drilling screw used in place of lag screw going into a wood backer. Chronology of Defect / Non-compliance Determination Provide the chronology of events leading up to the defect decision or test data for the non-compliance decision: 4/26/2022 Production line discovered self drilling screws were being used, instead of lag screws, when install the awning brackets with an adhesive behind the bracket. Identify the Remedy Loosen and lift awning off mounting brackets, remove wrong screws, add sealant to hole, install correct lag screws. Describe the defect / non-compliance remedy program, including the manufacturerâÂÂs plan for reimbursement. At no cost to the customer, Renegade will have the self-drilling screws removed and replaced with the correct lag screws. Describe what distinguishes the remedy component from the TSB component. Lag screws are made for wood backers. Self drilling screws are made for metal. Identify and describe how and when the recall condition was corrected in production. On 4/26/2022 Production became aware of the issue, all units affected that were still on the premises were repaired using the correct lag screw.
