Bulletin Summary
Spartan Motors Chassis, Inc. has released a Recall Spartan NHTSA # 15V-388, TC # 2015 283. Certain 2015- 2016 model units on Spartan K3 Chassis are affected. Fasteners that attach the stay rod to the rear drive axle may not have been installed with thread locker or tightened in the correct sequence. The fasteners may loosen and the stay rod could disconnect from the rear drive axle allowing the rear axle to move freely in certain directions. This could cause loss of vehicle control which may increase the risk of a crash. The loosening of the fasteners may occur without warning.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
