Bulletin Summary
Some 2022 F-550 and F-600 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 10R140 automatic transmission and 6.7L diesel engine may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction (wrench) indicator with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P2704 and P0771 stored in the transmission control module (TCM) with poor shift quality and over 5,000 miles (8,000 km) in service. This may be due to wear between the input shaft and the E clutch hub causing the input shaft O-rings to become damaged resulting in an open E clutch circuit. To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to replace the E clutch hub and input shaft O-rings.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
