Bulletin Summary
Some affected vehicles may display an illuminated MIL with DTC P0420: Warm Up Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold, recorded in the ECM. An incorrect parameter in the judgment criteria may cause a false MIL (mis-detection of a fault when an abnormal condition is not present). This TSB provides dealers with a procedure to reprogram the ECM with new software to correct the condition.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
