Bulletin Summary
This Technical Bulletin is for some Oshkosh S-Series Front Discharge Concrete Mixer trucks that are fitted with an optional Hendrickson Load Span Tag Axle (LSTA) may have seat-to-axle fasteners that were incorrectly torqued at the factory. The axle seats will continue to perform acceptably if this situation has occurred, but to ensure the long-term durability of the axle and axle seat connections, Hendrickson is providing these instructions for inspection and torquing of the axle seat fasteners. The affected LSTA assemblies are equipped on Oshkosh S-Series mixers manufactured between 9/1/2017 and 5/30/2018. Previous units (manufactured between 3/25/2008 and 1/20/2017) that were subject to and/or retrofitted per Hendrickson Technical Bulleting No. TB-H807, Rev B could also be affected. This Customer Letter notifies customers about the Technical Bulletin TB-H816.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
