Bulletin Summary
Some 2020-2023 Aviator vehicles built on or before 12-Oct-2022 may exhibit a door ajar or door fault warning message present in the message center with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B1175:19, B1176:19, B11C0:19 and/or B11C1:19 present in door latch control module E (DCME), door latch control module F (DCMF), door latch control module G (DCMG) and/or door latch control module H (DCMH). This may be due to low battery voltage and DTC thresholds being too low and not a fault in the door latch assembly. To correct the condition, reprogram and re-configure the the affected module using the latest level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS). For claiming use causal part 54264A27 and applicable labor times found in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
