Bulletin Summary
Some 2017-2021 Ford GT vehicles may exhibit a creak/snap noise from the front door strut(s) when the driver and/or passenger doors are opened/closed. This may be due to reduced lubrication and/or dirt present at the front door strut ball and socket joints. If the noise is confirmed to be from the front door strut(s), the front door strut(s) should be removed per Workshop Manual(WSM), Section 501-03. After removal, the front door strut ball on the body and the socket of the front door strut should be thoroughly cleaned of existing grease and dirt. Once cleaned, apply Motorcraftù XG-11 High Temperature 4x4 Front Axle and Wheel Bearing Grease to the socket of the front door strut before reassembly. Any excess grease should be wiped away from all front door strut ball and socket joints.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
