Bulletin Summary
Some 2019-2021 Ford GT vehicles may exhibit a discharged battery with the battery charger and maintainer connected to the rear hatch storage compartment power point. This may be due to the cigar plug comfort connect end of the battery charger and maintainer not being completely inserted into the rear hatch storage compartment power point or by becoming disconnected when the cable is pulled when the rear hatch is lowered. Before diagnosing, interview the customer about their hook up method and the possibility of the cigar plug comfort connect end not being completely inserted and/or tension on the charge cable when the rear hatch is lowered. A properly connected and powered battery charger and maintainer will have an illuminated green power indicator and a battery charge level indicator showing at all times.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
