Bulletin Summary
Some 2020 F-Super Duty vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine and built on or before 18-Aug-2020 may exhibit an illuminated powertrain malfunction indicator (wrench) lamp with only diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P07F6 stored in the transmission control module (TCM). This DTC may be accompanied by harsh engagements, a poor shift quality feel and/or loss of 9th gear as a result of the DTC being set. If no additional codes or symptoms are present, clear the DTC with the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool and schedule a follow-up appointment for service mid-September. Inform the customer that engineering is working to implement a solution and advise the customer that they can continue to drive the vehicle. Once available, contact the customer and confirm a service appointment. Monitor OASIS for updates.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
