Bulletin Summary
Some 2015-2016 MKC vehicles without active park assist and built on or before 2/15/16 may exhibit steering column controls such as turn signals, radio controls, and low speed wipers being intermittently inoperative due to lack of communication. Wake up the steering column control module (SCCM) by actuating the headlight flash to pass function and reprogram the SCCM with latest calibration using IDS release 106.03 or higher. Make sure you are connected to the internet when entering module programming to obtain the latest updates. Calibration files may also be obtained at www.motorcraftservice.com. Use causal part 3F791 and refer to section 10 body/chassis/electrical in the SLTS manual for applicable labor operations.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
