Bulletin Summary
Service bulletin - The MIL comes on with DTC P2101 (electronic throttle control system malfunction) stored. The vehicle may enter failsafe mode and experience a lack of power or poor acceleration. The problem is intermittent, and cycling the ignition will usually restore the vehicle to its normal function. However, the MIL will remain on and DTC P2101 will be stored. The PGM-FI misinterprets the electronic throttle control system and sets DTC P2101.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
