Bulletin Summary
HVAC Stuck in Defrost Mode, DTCs B0248, B0268 or B0408 Set Condition/Concern Some customers may comment that the HVAC system is stuck in the defrost mode. When checking the vehicle for DTCs, the HVAC control module may report B0248, B0268 or B0408 set as current. Once the DTC(s) are cleared, the air delivery mode can be changed. This condition may be due to an actuator over-traveling or intermittently binding, causing the DTC(s) to set.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
