Bulletin Summary

PROCESS FOR 12V BATTERY TESTING APPLIED VEHICLES: 2026 LEAF (ZE2) SERVICE INFORMATION Due to changes to the DC-DC control logic, 12V battery testing may take an extra 20 minutes or more. To perform a faster 12V battery test, the DC-DC deactivation process must be completed which deactivates the DC-DC power supply for 1 hour. The 12V battery must be diagnosed or removed within 1 hour or power supply may be restored unintentionally. The DC-DC deactivation process is in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) under Precautions for Removing Battery Terminal. · Refer to the ESM: ELECTRICAL & POWER CONTROL > POWER SUPPLY, GROUND & CIRCUIT ELEMENTS > PRECAUTION > PRECAUTIONS FOR REMOVING BATTERY TERMINAL > Precautions for Removing Battery Terminal · If the 12V battery is not replaced after testing, verify the power switch has been pressed to cycle the ignition to ACC mode ON and then back to ACC mode OFF to re-enable the DC-DC system which maintains the 12V battery.

About Technical Service Bulletins

A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
