Bulletin Summary

Emission Recall - General Motors has decided to conduct a Voluntary Emission Recall involving certain vehicles with a 2.8L diesel engine. The Engine Control Module (ECM) may not properly handle diagnostic information for the exhaust Particulate Matter (PM) sensor. This can prevent the PM sensor signal from being used to diagnose the functionality of other components. Additionally, if a PM sensor fault occurs, it may not result in setting a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) or Malfunction Indicator Lamp (Check Engine Light) illumination. Dealers are to reprogram the ECM.

About Technical Service Bulletins

A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
