Bulletin Summary
Complaint To prevent the wiper motor from overheating, the wipe frequency is reduced automatically when a dry windshield is detected. In specific situations under various independent ambient conditions, this detection could be activated by mistake, with the result that the wiper system switches from activated continuous operation to intermittent operation when it's raining. Cause Sensitive parameters for detecting dry conditions. The wiper system might switch back to intermittent operation even though it is raining and continuous wiping is activated. Remedy Install new wiper motor assembly. In the new wiper motor system, the parameters for detecting dry conditions have been optimized.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
