Bulletin Summary
Complaint Cracking noises on load change from rear axle (can be heard from wheel side). Cause Unfavorable manufacturing tolerances in the production process of the drive shaft. Remedy If the above-mentioned customer complaint is present, perform the following operation steps: 1. A test drive must be performed. 2. For a precise noise analysis (localization of the noise), make use of the noise case. If the side shafts of the rear axle have been unequivocally identified as the cause (source of the noise), both side shafts at the rear axle must be replaced. The following part numbers must be installed: • A 214 350 44 06 Side shaft
