Bulletin Summary
Oil Leak at Crankcase Near the High-pressure Fuel Pump OM654 Complaint: Visible oil leak at the crankcase near the mounting area of the high-pressure fuel pump on OM654 engines. Cause: The shaft seal (radial sealing ring) at the high-pressure fuel pump is not leak-tight, resulting in external oil leakage. Remedy: Install new high-pressure pump together with design-optimized sealing ring. 1. Replace the high-pressure fuel pump. 2. Discard the 2.5 mm O-ring included with the new pump. 3. Install the updated 2.6 mm O-ring (P/N: A0009973819). 4. Verify the repair using crack detection spray (P/N: A0009890359) around the pump mounting area. 5. If the leak reappears, submit a TIPS case to the Powertrain inbox with reference photos.
