ISUZU DIESEL ENGINES AVAILABLE IN THE ABOVE AFFECTED VEHICLES MEET THE CALIFORNIA AIR RESOURCE BOARD?S (CARB) OPTIONAL IDLING EMISSIONS STANDARD OF 30 GRAMS PER HOUR OF OXIDES OF NITROGEN (NOX) WITH NO INCREASE IN THE EMISSION OF OTHER REGULATED POLLUTANTS. AS A RESULT THESE VEHICLES HAVE BEEN APPROVED AS ?CERTIFIED CLEAN IDLE? AND ARE ?EXEMPT? FROM THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN SYSTEM (ESS) REQUIREMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 1956.8 OF TITLE 13, CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS. AS REQUIRED BY THE ESS REGULATION, FOR ?CERTIFIED CLEAN IDLE? VEHICLES, ISUZU HAS INTRODUCED A TAMPER RESISTANCE ?CERTIFIED CLEAN IDLE? LABEL LOCATED ON THE DRIVER?S SIDE DOOR PANEL.
