Bulletin Summary
Mercedes-Benz Recall #24V166. On certain Sprinter vehicles, the routing of the main wiring harness might contact the drive shaft and chafe, which could result in a short circuit, loss of drive power, power steering, and brake control system. A short circuit increases the risk of a fire, and a loss of drive power, power steering, and brake system control increases the risk of a crash.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
