Bulletin Summary
TECH LINE SUMMARY ARTICLE - WERE GETTING REPORTS OF A HIGH-PITCHED WHINE WITH THE A/C RUNNING. IT GOES AWAY WHEN THE A/C IS TURNED OFF. CHANGING THE FAN SPEED HAS NO EFFECT ON THE NOISE, AND IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING BETWEEN 1,600 TO 2,100 RPM. FROM OUR INVESTIGATION, WEVE FOUND THAT THIS NOISE IS COMING FROM A RESONANCE IN THE A/C COMPRESSOR, WHICH IS GETTING TRANSMITTED INTO THE CABIN THROUGH THE REFRIGERANT LINES.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
