SERVICE ACTION: CHECK BADGE ON TAILGATE, REPLACE IF NECESSARY . The "BMW" trunklid emblem (arrow) which contains the rear-view camera may not have been correctly fastened during vehicle production. It is possible that the emblem & camera may become detached from the vehicle, such as when going through an automated car wash.
