A crack may have formed in the upper left corner of the trunk opening (circled in red), where the quarter panel contacts the left lower corner of the rear window and trunk water channel. The PVC seam sealant applied to the water channel may not sufficiently seal the channel in the presence of the crack, resulting in a small water leak into the trunks interior.
