PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN THIS SERVICE INFORMATION ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES BEFORE CUSTOMER DELIVERY OR THE NEXT TIME THEY ARE IN THE SHOP FOR MAINTENANCE OR REPAIRS. designates changes to this revision SUBJECT Delivery Stop/Service Action: Check Rear Axle Differential. 1 A Delivery Stop has been issued on certain 2014 model year F15 and F3x vehicles produced from July 2013 to January 2014 because the final drive differential gears may not have been properly hardened. Vehicles held at the ports of entry are being inspected and/or repaired prior to center delivery. During this inspection and analysis of data, BMW of North America has documented a failure rate of less than one in two hundred. The affected vehicles are listed in the attachment to this bulletin; they are also identified with a ""Vehicle Comment"" in the DCSnet Warranty Vehicle Inquiry or ISPA as follows: ??Defect Code 0033840100, Delivery Stop: Rear Axle Differential; see SI B 33 01 14 The initial limited available stock of parts is reserved for vehicles that have already been sold and are in customers' hands (see Situation 2). Affected vehicles in center inventory must not be retailed or delivered until the rear differential has been replaced. 2 Certain 2014 model year F15 and F3x vehicles produced from July 2013 to January 2014 may have final drive differential gears that have not been properly hardened. These vehicles have already been sold and delivered to customers."
