Bulletin Summary
Cummins and Daimler Trucks North America (Freightliner) has decided that a defect relating to motor vehicle safety exists in specific motorhomes built on Freightliner chassis (Cummins NHTSA #21E 063), (Freightliner NHTSA # 21V 556). In response, Newmar Corporation is issuing recall NHTSA # 21V 642. On certain motorhomes, as described in Cummins recall 21E-063, a fuel leak may occur in the fuel hoses between the fuel pump and the remote fuel filter head. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
