Technical background: A suspicion that control units or services have been influenced by third parties means that unauthorised people or groups may have gained access to a vehicle's control unit(s) or online services and may have manipulated them in such a way that may compromise customer data confidentiality or the operation of the vehicle and/or online services. When investigating potential third party influences of control units or online services, it is important to take all normal diagnostic measures to rule out a normal functional error or misuse of the system by the user
