Bulletin Summary
Certain International CV Series trucks may not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 105 S5.3.1.C or Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 105 S5.3.1. The ABS MIL should be illuminated when there is a loss of communication between the Electronic Brake Control Module and the Body Control Module (BCM). If the ABS MIL does not alert the driver in the unique situation of a communication loss, the driver may have no indication of inoperative ABS or Automatic Traction Control (ATC) functionality, which may increase the risk of a vehicle crash while operating on slippery road conditions.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
