Flash: Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Updates Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find that one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) have been set: ? P1404 - EGR Close Position Performance. ? P0456 - EVAP System Small Leak. NOTE: If DTC P0456 is present use the wiTECH Small Leak Verification test (SLVT) to determine if a leak is present in the system. In addition, the customer may notice one or more of the following conditions: ? **Power Take Off (PTO) disable to high engine oil temperature (DD DP Only).** ? Abrupt gear engagement when transitioning from Park to Drive/Reverse gear state in Power Takeoff (PTO) Mode. ? Vehicle hesitation or surge at low vehicle speeds. ? Engine hesitation when turning steering wheel to end stop. ? Powertrain bump or hesitation around 16-24 kph (10-15 mph) vehicle speed. May be reported as rough or harsh transmission shifting in the same vehicle speed range This bulletin involves reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with the latest available software.
