Bulletin Summary
TT-14-016 During service of the exhaust aftertreatment system, the technician may visually find that the insulation within the outer shell of the combustion chamber is pushing out or loose. In the event that loose insulation is found, it is recommended to push the insulation back into the outer shell, or use a utility knife to trim off the excess insulation material. Replacement of the combustion chamber for loose or missing insulation is not recommended and is not a warrantable repair. Missing combustion chamber insulation will not cause any adverse functional effects with the exhaust aftertreatment system.
