Bulletin Summary
With the introduction of the new Porsche Communication Management system (PCM 4.0), customers of vehicles with a navigation module will be provided with updated maps free of charge for a certain inclusive period as part of the Map Update service. Themaps will be updated for the first time in theMap Update service using an SD card as part of this workshop campaign. In the course of annual model improvements, various functionalities of the PCM have been enhanced, optimizations have been implemented and the general performance of the system has been further improved at the same time. These functional enhancements and optimizations must be implemented retrospectively even for vehicles manufactured before the model improvement measures were introduced. To this end, the PCM software will also be updated using an SD card. Due to the changes to the PCM, the instrument cluster must also be re-programmed using the PIWIS Tester in order to ensure consistency between the displays in PCM and the instrument cluster.
About Technical Service Bulletins
A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) is a document issued by a vehicle manufacturer to its dealers, describing a known issue with a specific vehicle or set of vehicles and the recommended procedure to fix it. Unlike recalls, TSBs are not mandatory and are typically only performed if an owner reports the related issue. However, TSBs can be an indicator of common problems with a vehicle.
