Engine Running or Starting Problems Due To Damage to DME. The Service Engine Soon lamp (MIL) is illuminated. The engine may run poorly or no longer start, along with various faults stored in the DME memory. This could be caused by water damage and corrosion to the DME pins and harness connectors. The DME harness connectors may not be sealed sufficiently.
