Consumer Description
WHILE DRIVING SUBFRAME DROPPED AND CAUSED A LOST OF STEERING CONTROL. TOWED TO DEALER, AND WAS INFORMED THAT REAR CRADLE BOLTS HAD BECOME RUSTY AND CAUSED CRADLE BOLTS NOT TO SUPPORT SUBFRAME.*AK CONSUMER STATES THE CRADLE BOLTS PULLED THROUGH THE RUSTED RETAINER, RECALL 97V058 STATES THE REAR CRADLE BOLTS OF THE VEHICLES FRONT SUBFRAME CAN PULL THROUGH THE RETAINERS DUE TO CORROSION OF THE RETAINER, IF BOTH BOLTS PULL THROUGH, THE REAR CRADLE WOULD NO LONGER BE SUPPORTED AT THESE MOUNTING LOCATIONS AND THE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT COULD SEPARATE FROM THE STEERING GEAR, EVEN THOUGH THIS RECALL STATES EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED ON CONSUMERS VEHICLE, IT WAS NOT INCLUDED DUE TO IT BEING A 1992. *SLC
