NHTSA Complaint #11714273 — 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

The seat belt does not retract. There is a crack where the seat belts enter the post and compresses the seat belt. I took it to the dealer and they would love to fix it but there are no parts available so they can not do anything. In summary we use the seatbelt only as a decoration piece so we do not get ticket it by non-using a seat belt. I asked the dealer if I could try to fix it my myself but he believes I will void the warranty. Not having a seatbelt is a major safety issue, that's why I write to you. Suggestion: (1) or Mopar gets the parts available to the dealer or (2) we do not penalized the user for trying to fix it. This is my wife car [XXX] ) she is [XXX] /o.
