The contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that on four occasions when the vehicle was started, the message "Steering Assist Service Required" was displayed. The contact stated that the steering wheel was very stiff and would not move. The vehicle was restarted, and the vehicle operated as needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
