Consumer Description
The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine made an abnormal knocking sound. The contact stated that while driving with the Adaptive Cruise Control activated, the vehicle failed to decelerate automatically while there was a vehicle in the proximity of the vehicle. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking system engaged while there was no vehicle or object in proximity of the vehicle. The contact stated that the Lane Keep Assist was engaging and disengaging erroneously. The contact stated while at a complete stop at a red traffic light, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle failed to restart and was pushed to the side of the road with assistance. The vehicle was later able to restart and was driven to the residence; however, the failure persisted while driving. The contact stated that upon arriving to the residence, the check engine warning light was illuminated, and the contact received a notification for emission control problem through the vehicle mobile app. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the engine was replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that the heater was making an abnormally loud squeaking sound and there was fumes coming through the vents. The contact installed a Carbon Monoxide detector in the vehicle, and the detector indicated that the Carbon Monoxide and Dioxide levels in the vehicle were high. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the heater blower was replaced, and the contact was informed that the exhaust manifold was sealed; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving on another occasion. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was being diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine and Cooling); however, the VIN was not included in the recall.
