NHTSA Complaint #11685707 — 2023 NISSAN ROGUE

The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the vehicle was sluggish and failed to exceed 45 MPH while driving, with an abnormal humming and knocking sound coming from the vehicle. The contact's son visited the contact and test-drove the vehicle. The contact was informed that the vehicle was dangerous to drive. The contact's son also heard the abnormal humming and knocking sound. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the failure was not duplicated. The contact was informed that the abnormal driving performance was due to the turbo engine and was normal. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,300.
