NHTSA Complaint #11683750 — 2018 HONDA CR-V

The contact’s mother owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact’s mother stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel was unintendedly jumping. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the steering gearbox had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 48,439.
