NHTSA Complaint #11680476 — 2023 FRACTAL CARGO ENCLOSED TRAILER

A trailer company named Road Moto offers rental of this trailer for personal use. The company knowingly allowed me to take this trailer across country. Prior to the trip, it was discovered the company placed two different size tires on each axle because the wheel well and suspension did not give enough clearance for the frame to contact the tire, therefore causing a blowout. Furthermore, the tires were bald to begin with. When we tried to contact the company on the day of the pick up, there was no answer. Therefore, due to the charges already placed on a credit card. We had no choice, but to take the sign trailer. Once contact was made with the company. They advised to change the tires and they would reimburse. The tires were changed, but unfortunately, their suspension issue caused a blowout while on the highway. Please look into this company for allowing their customers to rent the trailers, knowing there is a likelihood of potential damage and injury on the highway. It was evident the company knew or should have known the condition of the tires prior to allowing us to rent it and should’ve been available for contact. As mentioned, on the day of the pick up these items were discovered and the company was nowhere to be found and unable to contact.
