NHTSA Complaint #11675073 — 2014 NISSAN SENTRA

The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle ceased to accelerate as intended with an abnormally loud sound coming from the transmission. The vehicle eventually came to a complete stop. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer confirmed that the VIN was not under recall and referred the contact to the local dealer for assistance. The dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 167,000.
